Perspectives Study Program (referred to in this Privacy Statement as "we" or "PSP") recognize the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by Perspectives Alumni, Perspectives Coordinators, registrants for our Perspectives classes, recipients of our e-mail newsletters and Perspectives Course Instructors. We created this policy with a fundamental respect for your right to privacy and to guide our relationships with you. This Privacy Statement discloses the privacy practices for all products and services of PSP.
INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE
PSP collects information from our course registration procedures. In this section of our Privacy Statement, we describe the type of information we collect and how we use it to provide better services to you. We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings.
- Registration
When attending our Perspectives course and other in-person events, users must first register. During registration, users are required to give their contact information (such as name, e-mail address, mailing address and phone number). For internal purposes, we use this information to communicate with users and provide requested services. We use such information to improve our service, for promotion of Perspectives related events and/or to inform or alert you of updates and changes in the Perspectives program.
- E-mail Newsletters
If users wish to subscribe to our e-mail newsletters, we ask for contact information (such as name and e-mail address) and information about the subscriber's professional interests and responsibilities. We use this information in the same manner as we use contact information in the registration process described above. Recipients of our newsletters can unsubscribe using the instructions listed at the end of the e-mail newsletter. In some instances,
- Surveys and Contests
From time to time we invite coordinators, instructors, alumni and students to provide information via surveys or participate in contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and alumni or students therefore have a choice whether to disclose requested contact and demographic information. In addition to the other uses set forth in this policy, contact information collected in connection with surveys and contests is used to monitor or improve the use of, and satisfaction with, the products or services of Perspectives.
- Communications With Us
We have features where our constituents can submit information to us (such as a comment text box). Where such submissions include requests for service, support, or information, we may forward them to our regional representatives, as needed, to best respond to the specific request. In addition, we may retain e-mails and other information sent to us for our internal administrative purposes, and to help us to serve you better.
- Automatic Data Collection
We use an email delivery and marketing company to send emails (including newsletters) for which we have registered you. Web beacons and cookies may be used in such email messages to help us measure the effectiveness of our communication and how constituents use our web sites and other products and services. We may combine information supplied by you at registration with web site usage data to learn more about users and their preferences in the content of the site. We may use this information to tailor services to your interests or to contact you about events from our partnering agencies which may be of interest to you. We do not disclose this information to third parties.
WITH WHOM YOUR INFORMATION IS SHARED
We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information with anyone without your advance permission or unless ordered by a court of law. Information submitted to us is only available to employees managing this information for purposes of contacting you or sending you emails based on your request for information and to contracted service providers for purposes of providing services relating to our communications with you.
CORRECTION/UPDATING PERSONAL INFORMATION
If information which you have submitted to us changes, we provide a way for you to correct or update your personal data through a personal profile on the Perspectives web site. You may also either contact perspectives@uscwm.org for general information for the National Office, or reply to the received email, newsletter, or other form of communication.
PERMISSION
Each email sent contains an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving email from us, or to change your expressed interests. If you wish to do this, simply follow the instructions at the end of any email. Please note that we will endeavor to implement your permission requests within a reasonable time, although for a time you may continue to receive mailings, etc., transmitted based on information released prior to the implementation of your request.
SECURITY
We use reasonable precautions to protect information about our constituents while it is stored on our servers or in transit to our vendors processing on our behalf. This includes a firewall and 24 monitoring of website activities by PSP’s hosting service provider, as well as 128-bit SSL encryption (where allowed by law) on transaction oriented operations between customers and PSP via PSP’s transaction service provider. PSP’s service provider is required by law to maintain the standards of PCI DSS for all online transactions (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). Access to all of our constituents' information is restricted. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Our web site contains links to other sites. PSP is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each web site to which we may link that may collect personally identifiable information.

PSP websites are not directed at individuals under thirteen years of age, and PSP does not intend to collect any personally-identifiable information from such individuals.
NOTIFICATION and CHANGES
