Criteria for Instructors

Who should be teaching in Perspectives classes and what are the criteria?

The Perspectives curriculum covers a wide variety of information in the 15 Lessons, and there is no official application for instructors. We mainly go by the references of our local coordinators, regional directors, and partner agencies. Basically, if they are good - they are invited to more classes, if they aren't - they may not be invited to other classes. Go to the Lesson Summaries page to view a list of lessons with short summaries.

Basic Criteria:

  • Can teach effectively on the lesson's curriculum
  • Gifted in speaking to groups of 40 to 150 - able to engage the audience
  • For Partner Agency Instructors - Are able to speak proficiently on their ministries vision, activity around the world, and how to learn more about their ministry.

Let your instructor choose their lessons of competence:

  • The Registration Form for Partner Agency Instructors you fill out does not ask for much information. It registers them, gives them access to Instructor Resources, and sends an email asking them to complete their profile.
  • Your instructors will choose which Lesson's they are competent in when they complete their online profile.

If you need to update an instructor's profile:

  • Keep track of your instructor's username and password that you plan to update. Log in with their ID, and go to My Info to update their profile.
  • You can temporarily put your email in the registration form if you want the confirmation email to go to you (see confirmation email below).

Overseas experience is not required, although since one of the major goals in Perspectives is mobilization, instructors with compelling testimonies are sometimes the most effective. Although in the Biblical and Historical sections of the course, overseas experience does not matter too much.

Email that is sent after you register an instructor:

It is very important that you login to our website and update your profile, so that you can complete your instructor profile.

You will need this username and password to login and have access to edit your profile and view instructor resources, so save this e-mail for your records.
