Terminology used by the PERSPECTIVES Family.

Description of the PERSPECTIVES Family

   The PERSPECTIVES Family is primarily a collection of resources that advance the global cause of PERSPECTIVES . The Institute of International Studies (IIS) at William Carey International University gives oversight to the PERSPECTIVES Family by partnering with course developers internationally. This partnership ensures that PERSPECTIVES is fairly and accurately represented at the global level as well as providing strategic networking opportunities.

    The PERSPECTIVES Family grows globally through two primary mechanisms. The first is the use of the PERSPECTIVES on the World Christian Movement course, which is called the Standard PERSPECTIVES curriculum. The second is through advocacy and advancement of PERSPECTIVES Family resources. These are resources that have been initiated by course developers, and officially recognized by the IIS, which present PERSPECTIVES in the most culturally relevant and appropriate ways.

    PERSPECTIVES Family resources are those which have been authorized by the IIS and are always recognizable because they display the PERSPECTIVES Family insignia. Resources must adequately reflect PERSPECTIVES Core Ideas and Key Content in order to included in the PERSPECTIVES Family. To be considered for inclusion, please contact the IIS.

    More informally, the "PERSPECTIVES Family" is also a reference to the international community of advocates who seek to mobilize the church for God’s global purposes by using resources which convey some or all of the Core Ideas contained in Perspectives. Those who have signed the Perspectives Family Covenant have made a commitment to partner with others in the cause of engaging the vast diversity of the Body of Christ in the completion of the missionary task through mission awareness and education.


Benefits of being a part of the PERSPECTIVES Family

    Recognized PERSPECTIVES Family resources enjoy these benefits:

• Permission to display the PERSPECTIVES Family insignia on the front and/or back of the resource.
• Display of the resource on the PERSPECTIVES Family web site with relevant resource information and link(s).
• Customized consultation regarding PERSPECTIVES Core Ides and Key Content.
• Assistance in gaining permission to reprint material appearing in the PERSPECTIVES on the World Christian Movement course.
• Facilitated networking and sharing of knowledge among PERSPECTIVES Family resource developers.
